J. Jeffrey Krumpelman, CFA
Managing Director & Chief Investment Officer
Jeff is a managing director and chief investment officer (CIO) at RiverPoint, serving as a senior member of the investment team. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industry working in various capacities, including research analyst, investment strategist, senior portfolio manager and relationship manager. Jeff holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Society in Cincinnati. His experience includes fundamental, valuation and technical analysis, as well as investment strategy. As CIO, Jeff works closely with Leon Loewenstine, the chief investment strategist, to set the asset allocation policy and strategy, and conduct macroeconomic research. Jeff’s primary focus is to chair all internal investment team meetings, and help drive the research process at the security level and with regard to portfolio construction and security selection. He has ultimate responsibility and accountability in these areas of the firm. Jeff also works with individuals, families and institutional clients in managing their wealth.
Prior to joining RiverPoint, Jeff was a senior portfolio manager at U.S. Bank where he worked with private individuals and foundations. Prior to that, Jeff served as head of investments at Hilliard Lyons Capital Management where he managed a team of investment professionals and various equity strategies including dividend growth, high yield, large cap growth and mid cap core. Before Hilliard, Jeff was director of core investment strategies at Fifth third Asset Management and lead manager on the Fifth Third Dividend Growth portfolio. Jeff has appeared regularly on CNBC and Bloomberg, and has been frequently quoted in the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s.
Jeff received a bachelor of arts in economics from DePauw University and obtained his master’s degree in management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
In the community, Jeff is a member of the Finance Committee at Newtown United Methodist Church and at the Catholic Inter-city School Education Fund. He serves on the Board of Cancer Family Care and also is part of the mentoring program for students at Xavier University. As an avid runner through the years, Jeff has raised funds through racing events for the Leukemia Society, Alzheimer’s Association and the American Cancer Society.
