Pamela F. Schmitt, CFA®, CDFA
Managing Director & Senior Portfolio Manager
As a managing director and senior wealth advisor working with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, endowments and retirement plans, Pamela is also an integral part of the RiverPoint investment team. She has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services and investment management industry and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designations. Pamela has experience in the review and analysis of equity and fixed income investments, both in the secondary market and on a direct-investment basis, having worked on mergers and acquisitions as well as asset-liability management within a large bank environment. She has experience at helping individuals transition to financial independence after life-altering events, such as the death of a spouse or divorce, and is certified to project the long-term financial implications of divorce settlements. She is a member of the CFA Institute as well as the CFA Society of Cincinnati and was named a Five Star Wealth Manager by Cincinnati Magazine and Five Star Professional from 2012-2015.
Prior to joining RiverPoint, Pamela was a vice president and senior portfolio manager at Fifth Third Asset Management where she was responsible for investment relationships. She worked with the clients and their consultants on investment-related matters, conducted investment reviews and was involved in setting portfolio strategies to meet client objectives. Previously, Pamela was a vice president and portfolio manager at Commerce Bancshares in St. Louis, where she managed investment portfolios for both institutional and high-net-worth clients. She also served as the firm’s financial-stock analyst for both the Value and Core equity strategies. Pamela spent 10 years at Commerce, working in corporate credit analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and asset liability management prior to becoming a portfolio manager.
Pamela received a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree with a minor in Japanese studies from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She received an Master’s of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Pamela serves as a trustee on the board of the Cincinnati Ballet and is the treasurer of the Cincinnati Ballet Foundation. She was previously on the steering committee for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati WINGs group (Women Investing in the Next Generation) and serves as a guest lecturer and member of the Finance Department Advisory Board for the University of Cincinnati’s Lindner College of Business.
The Five Star Wealth Manager award is given by Five Star Professional. To receive the award, a wealth manager must satisfy 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria, including registration as an investment advisory representative, employment as a credentialed professional in the financial services industry for a minimum of five years, favorable regulatory and compliant history, firm review based on internal firm standards and accepting new clients. The award is not indicative of the wealth manager’s future performance. Wealth managers do not pay a fee to be considered or placed in the final list of Five Star Wealth Managers.
